The Virtues
Behind the Work
My work begins with a conviction that the ideas we inherit should shape how we live, how we treat one another, and how we use the power entrusted to us.
Power should protect. ↗- Courage
- To act responsibly when the right course is difficult.
- Hope
- To believe in the possibility of renewal without denying reality.
- Compassion
- To recognize suffering and respond with meaningful care.
- Justice
- To respect human dignity and confront unfairness.
- Wisdom
- To seek understanding, judge carefully, and acknowledge human limits.
- Truth
- To pursue what is real and correct what is mistaken.
- Service
- To direct knowledge, influence, and ability toward the good of others.
The formal personal identity
Seven commitments.
One recognizable signature.
Courage · Hope · Compassion · Justice · Wisdom · Truth · Service
The complete inscription belongs to the large formal seal. On small screens, the everyday emblem is shown with the commitments written above it. These seven named commitments do not replace the broader virtue frameworks in the writing.
The author, the book, the purpose
Distinct names.
A connected inquiry.
Martin Genter
The personal identity. The existing standalone MG monogram and text wordmark identify authorship.
The Eternal Renaissance
The current flagship literary work, in development. No subtitle has been finalized.
The Human Renaissance
The larger intellectual and moral mission connecting books, essays, education, civic work, and responsible technology.
Power should protect.
The governing ethical maxim: knowledge and influence carry responsibilities toward other people.

Readable navigation, generous space, and restrained ornament support the work. The existing unlettered torch-and-book device accompanies the current book title; the historical Ancient Greek Way seal keeps its original title.

Production identity assets
Simple. Readable.
Consistent.
The formal seal names all seven commitments. The everyday emblem removes the inscription for smaller placements; the micro-mark keeps the same MG letterforms for navigation and favicons. Each is derived from one master.
Use the monogram or wordmark for current applications. Historical personal seals and engraved concepts are retained as design records, not current identity instructions.
Design history
The earlier Edition I kit and Edition II engraved concepts remain available for historical reference. Their inscriptions do not supersede the seven personal virtues above. The broader virtue frameworks within the books remain part of the writing.
